Calling Birdie Wing a golf anime is like calling Kakegurui a gambling anime. On the surface, it's what it seems like that's what the anime is about, but upon closer inspection, both of these shows are simply riddled with "anime logic".
Birdie Wing is 5% golf logic and 95% anime logic. This doesn't mean it's a bad anime, it just doesn't accurately portray golf at all. Its epithet "Girls' Golf Story" is incredibly misleading.
Seeing U15 girl golfers pulling 62s and 61s like it's nothing is quite annoying; this was the nail in the coffin of realism, as if the previous scenes weren't ridiculous enough.
Watch if you like absurd anime logic and want "golf" in the background, but don't expect a golf story.
