War is a generally negative thing, but it has its perks. Wars drive technology to new heights at a pace more rapid than ever. The downside to war is... well, the destruction it causes.
How can we reap the benefits of war and mitigate its damages?
Games and competitions!
By competing to be the best, one must innovate. Even something that seems simple on the surface could have countless underlying machinations that can only be discovered from rigorous testing and brainstorming.
The best example of this in recent memory is one that is very dear to me: Technoblade and Squid Kid's potato war.
In Hypixel Skyblock, a Minecraft minigame, there are potatoes. One can grow the potatoes and pick them and replant the seeds to yield more potatoes in the future. There are also "minions" that help you automatically farm these potatoes so you don't have to do it manually.
These two fellas competed to become the #1 potato farmer in Skyblock.
Simple, right?
Oh how wrong you'd be.
