zen is probably better than rw9 overall, but it's hard to tell.
everyone thinks rw9 is better because he won this match, but no one realizes a worse player can beat a better player especially at this level.
if we compare feats, can rw9 replicate the 11-0 streak zen pulled off? if the answer is yes, then rw9 is indeed the better player.
also, the top 1s scene is so stacked right now that their "performance ratings" (basically equivalent to super-short term MMR) within the short term will change a lot. 11 winstreak against the best definitely puts zen at #1 during that time, but it remains to be seen where it all goes from here.
the only thing's for sure... 1v1 content is at the peak right now in RL <3

the ping differential is indeed also a factor at the top level. small differences can add up at the top level for any game.
but i think it's pretty undeniable that during zen's 11-0 streak he was the by far best player in the world during that time.
two players with the same mmr should have a 50/50 chance of winning against each other. this places the probability of winning 11 in a row at 1/2048.
if we strictly look at the performance rating of this streak, speculatively, his 11-0 against the world's best has a 50/50 chance of happening (performance rating is super short term mmr so this number will be inflated on purpose)

diamond vs plat? probably not... i feel like the diamond will get an unlucky loss against the plat before racking up 11 wins.
champ vs plat seems reasonable. meaning that the difference between zen and THE BEST 1v1 players in the world is the same as the difference between a champ and a plat.
remember again i am only speculating the performance rating of this streak and doesn't accurately describe the long term
